I wouldn't trust anyone else working on my vehicles when it comes to big jobs or even small oil changes. Danny has a keen ear to hear certain noises that I hear and is able to pinpoint the problem and get it fixed in the time he said he would (my last mechanic would always put it off and put others first since we were neighbors) he's more than fair on his prices, couldn't find anyone cheaper and anyone that can get it in the time frame he could. Promise, you wouldn't be disappointed in someone as honest and trustworthy as Danny. Thanks for your hard work.
Bourbon City Auto Repair is a honest garage, that does Excellent work at a very affordable price. Danny the owner/mechanic takes great pride in his work and it shows with the quality and attention to detail he puts into each job. Customer for life.
This is the first review I've ever written on the internet as I am generally a very understanding person, sometimes to my own detriment. I purchased an 83 Ram about year ago. My engine died in November and took it to Danny. I had no experience driving an older truck and didn't realize my oil pressure was low (Danny made sure he reminded me that it was my fault any chance he could get). On January 18th I authorized Danny to purchase and install a new 318 engine. I was told it would take 1.5 to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. I played phone tag and exchanged texts throughout the month of February looking for status updates. Finally on March 1st it was ready for pickup. The truck never ran well, repeatedly stalled and required feathering to remain running, even in hot weather. Took it back to Danny, he said he replaced the choke on the carburater. Picked it up, same result. Constant stalling, 20 minutes of feathering and warming up, acceleration issues. A few days later I sent him a video asking what I was doing wrong, he told me my battery sounded weak. I replaced the battery but to no avail. The same problems persisted. I then tried calling him for the next four days until finally I had to send a certified letter as I had yet to receive my receipt for the work done. To this point I had only received a receipt with the amount I paid. He finally sent me a text after receiving my letter essentially telling me he would look at it again but that I had no experience driving an old truck and that I didn't notice my low oil pressure prior to the engine dying. He also told me that he had spent more time on it than I was being charged for. So I essentially spent $3,000 and was now being told that I didn't know what I was doing and that I was somehow getting a deal. I took it to another mechanic who told me that the choke on the carb wasn't even hooked up and that he sprayed break cleaner around the intake and that "there are vacuum leaks all over the intake manifold" and that he would not fix another mechanic's mess. We took it back to Danny where he told me that my intake was warped and had it decked by a machine shop. We've been driving it for about 3 weeks and the same problems persist. We can get it started now but there all all kinds of performance problems. I could go on and on, there was an exhaust leak and 2 other tows along the line. This has been by far the worst consumer experience of my life.
I chose this repair shop based on the positive reviews. Huge mistake! Danny recommended a new engine for our truck to which we accepted his advise and were told it would take about two and a half weeks to complete. It took 6 weeks to get it back the first time, then we had to pay for 3 additional trips/tows back to him as the engine was not installed properly. Here I am 4 months later, I have my truck but it's still not operating properly. It stalls out all of the time and I have to take it to a capable mechanic to have it fixed right. I'm so disappointed in Danny's work and the amount of excuses we were given along the way. One of the tow truck drivers actually told me to stay away from this shop since Danny is never working when he arrives. Words really can't describe how terrible this experience has been and I'm writing this to help save you the trouble. Go somewhere else!
Danny fixed my A/C during the stretch of 90° temperatures. He was able to get me in on the same day and fixed it while I waited! He was knowledge and professional. His accommodations were really nice and now I have cool air for my family's comfort. I would recommend! The place is a little tricky to find being off the road a little but was definitely worth finding!
